UTech Corner

Description:

UTECH Corner is a blog created by JJSP with the intent to keep students informed and abreast with what’s happening in and around UTECH and also in the country. UTECH Corner consists of tips or advice on certain issues, a blog section that informs viewers about recent posts relating to Sports, Academics, Entertainment and General knowledge about UTECH, a notice board section that informs viewers of the latest news or reminders of events happening on campus, chat interface where viewers can get technical support online, discussion box where students and lecturers will be able to post and discuss their concern/issues. Viewers can also provide their feedback on related topics being posted and they will be able to send the bloggers a message if there is any query, concern or suggestions relating to the blog. Bloggers are currently students of the University of Technology and any content being posted on this blog is current and accurate.

Mission:

To create an informative channel for the students and employees of UTECH, connecting them to the current affairs within and outside of the institution.

Vision:

Our vision is to build an information network that empowers the students of UTECH.

Objectives:

To build a network of contacts for UTECH.
To create better relationships with students and lecturers.
To elicit feedback from both students and lecturers.
To promote content or information through "educational marketing".
To have an engaging blog that will influence visitors to return.

Our Team:

UTECH Corner was formed by JJSP a group of 5 students currently enrolled in IS Innovation and Emerging Technologies course under the School of Computing and Information Technology Programme at UTECH. JJSP team members philosophy is based on responsibility and mutual respect. We will maintain an environment and structure that will encourage productivity and respect for our viewers and fellow team members. Additionally, the environment will encourage team members to have fun by allowing creativity, independence and providing challenges that are realistic and rewarding. The team members of JJSP are Peter Brown, Sashalee Beckford, Jomo Wynter, Jason Henry and Dane Anderson.
